See all 21 Vintage Cabinet Makeovers! You will be inspired to update your own.
I get all nostalgic when I see vintage cabinet makeovers or a hutch that has been given a fresh new look. My imagination runs wild about what had been stored in it, the people who owned it and the hands that might have touched the worn doors and drawers over the years. Maybe the hutch held someone’s Sunday China or well loved books or maybe it was used as a pantry.
When I met my future mother in-law for the first time, she had 2 china hutches in her dining room. One was very rustic and the other was kind of fancy. As I walked by them, I kept trying to peek thru the glass to see what was inside. I tried not to be rude but I was so curious. It is almost funny how much of an impression these hutches made on me. Fast forward more than 20 years (yep, still married to the same wonderful guy) and I have 2 hutches of my own. One is country style in my kitchen and there’s one in my dining room that’s fancier.
Recently, I decided to change up my kitchen hutch, as part of my never ending kitchen makeover project, by gilding the cabinet hardware in silver. It is really simple to do. See how at How to Gild Cabinet Hardware.
My fascination with the cabinet makeover did not stop there…oh no… I also put together this collection of 21 Vintage Cabinet Makeovers for Hometalk. There’s so much creativity and inspiration on Hometalk that it was really hard to stop picking more and more makeovers.

Hi Brooke, you are very welcome! Have a great weekend:)
Love this! My mom has an old cabinet that I would love to get my hands on. So much inspiration, thanks.
Hi Lauren, thank you! Good luck on your project. I would love to see how it turns out:)
Great roundup! I am actually in the process of painting our hutch we inherited from grandparents right now. I love the dark wood look but am excited to lighten it up with a pretty blue/green color like some of the ones in those pictures. Thanks for sharing!
